The Shalheveth Mission:
To improve the quality of life for severely physically disabled adults who desire to live independent lives but lack the appropriate framework, skills and services that will allow them to overcome their fears and acquire the daily life skills needed to integrate into the community.
 
 

 

 
Founded as a not-for-profit organization in 1997, "Shalheveth" actually began its activities in 1986 when a small group of resolute individuals set in motion a project to improve the quality of life for severely physically disabled adults.

Today, the organization manages a community housing project that:

  • offers independent living for severely disabled adults and their caregivers
  • coordinates cultural and social activities for severely disabled adults in the community at-large
  • provides handicapped-accessible transportation services
  • organizes a once-in-a-lifetime overseas trip for severely disabled adults

Organizational Goals

  • To improve the quality of life for severely disabled adults
  • To raise the standard of living for severely disabled adults
  • To assist residents in independent housing to pay for rent and welfare service fees
  • To provide severely disabled adults with necessary support services
