| Founded as a not-for-profit organization in 1997, "Shalheveth" actually began its activities in 1986 when a small group of resolute individuals set in motion a project to improve the quality of life for severely physically disabled adults.
Today, the organization manages a community housing project that:
- offers independent living for severely disabled adults and their caregivers
- coordinates cultural and social activities for severely disabled adults in the community at-large
- provides handicapped-accessible transportation services
- organizes a once-in-a-lifetime overseas trip for severely disabled adults
